Stefanny Leandro Aguilera  Born in 1995 in Cartago, Costa Rica, Stephanie Leandro began her musical education at the age of 5 with the piano. At the age of 10 she entered the Instituto Nacional de la Música (National Music Institute) to continue her musical education. She came to the bassoon at the age of 12 under the direction of bassoon professor Marco Redondo. During her studies at the conservatory she was a member of the program of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Costa Rica. From 2015 to 2019 she studied at the University of Southern Mississippi (USA) with Dr. Kim Woolly and graduated with a bachelor's degree with honors. In 2018 she won the William T. Gower Competition as a soloist with the USM Symphony Orchestra and came second in the MTNA Music Teachers' Association Competition. Since 2019 Stephanie Leandro has been continuing her master's degree at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna with Professor Marcelo Padilla (solo bassoonist RSO Vienna). She is part of the Zemlinsky Ensemble, the opera Rund Um in Waidhofen/Ybbs and, after a successful audition, also in the Brixen Classics Festival Orchestra. In June she performed Antonio Vivaldi's Bassoon Concerto (RV 495) as a soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of the Wagner Conservatory. In August she appeared again as a soloist in Weber's Bassoon Concerto in F major, accompanied by the Camerata Festiva from Losenstein, Upper Austria.
